byzantine empire review
1. Roman leaders broke up the empire in 395.

Describe how people lived in the Roman world: most people lived in countryside and worked on farms.
Describe slavery in the Roman world: Slavery was a significant part of roman life. Most slaves were conquered people brought back after wars.
Describe early religion in the Roman world: Earliest Romans worshipped powerful spirits that they thought resided in everything around them.
